At Pier Pressure Welwyn, our escape rooms and outdoor puzzle adventures offer a brilliant alternative to traditional educational trips, enrichment activities and end-of-year celebrations.

Based at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City, we're conveniently located for secondary schools, sixth forms, colleges and educational groups across Hertfordshire, including Hatfield, St Albans and Stevenage.

Escape Room School Trips at Campus West

Our Otto's Oddities escape room takes students on an imaginative adventure into a mysterious Bavarian toy shop in 1901.

Teams of 2–11 players have 60 minutes to complete their mission, working together to uncover secrets and solve a wide variety of puzzles.

For larger school groups, we can organise multiple sessions throughout the day, with friendly competitions between teams.

We'll also soon be opening Topsy Teal's Chocolatarium, allowing us to accommodate additional teams simultaneously.

The Seven Seals – An Outdoor Puzzle Adventure

Looking for an activity for a whole class or larger college group?

The Seven Seals is our outdoor puzzle adventure through Welwyn Garden City town centre.

Students become recruits to the mysterious Alchemist's Guild, exploring local landmarks while solving puzzles and uncovering the secrets of the seven seals.

Part escape room, part treasure hunt and part fantasy adventure, it's a great way to combine teamwork, problem-solving and exploring the local area.

Multiple teams can play simultaneously, allowing us to accommodate groups of 30+ students.

Whether you're organising an enrichment activity for a small group, an end-of-term reward or an outing for an entire class, we can help find a suitable experience.

We've welcomed a variety of educational groups, including school classes, college students and groups with additional learning needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages are your experiences suitable for?

Our escape rooms are recommended for ages 8 and above, making them particularly suitable for secondary school and college groups. Students aged 11 and over can play without an adult inside the room, provided a responsible adult remains on site. Younger students must be accompanied by an adult inside the experience.

How many students can take part?

Otto's Oddities accommodates up to 11 players per session. Larger groups can be split across multiple sessions, while The Seven Seals can accommodate 30+ players simultaneously across multiple teams.

How long do the activities last?

Our indoor escape room lasts 60 minutes, although we recommend allowing 80–90 minutes for the full visit. The Seven Seals typically takes around two hours, with flexibility to pause along the way.

Are your escape rooms scary?

No! Our experiences are designed around adventure, mystery and puzzles rather than horror or jump scares.

Can you accommodate students with additional needs?
