Brighton FAQs
Can you accommodate larger groups?
Yes, we can. Although our largest rooms take a maximum of nine people, we can take groups of up to 48 people playing all of our rooms at the same time.
A group that size would be split across our two central Brighton sites but we can take up to 36 players at just our Upper North Street location.
All arrive together, split into groups and then play multiple rooms at the same time. This option is available for corporate team building groups, school groups, hen parties, stag parties and any other large celebration.
Is there parking onsite?
There is no street parking immediately outside our two main venues.
If arriving by car to our Upper North Street venue we recommend parking at Churchill Square car park and walking up the hill from there which is only 400 metres.
If arriving by car to our Trafalgar Lane venue we recommend parking at Trafalgar Street car park which is only 200 metres away.
There is free parking directly outside Preston Manor on the driveway.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes dogs are allowed in our Upper North Street and Trafalgar Lane venues as long as they’re house trained and well behaved. Our Raver Quest room does have music and flashing lights. Any damage must be paid by the owner.
Dogs are not allowed inside Preston Manor.
When are you open?
Are you accessible?
Sadly, due to the beautiful architecture of Brighton, this is something we struggle with. You will find that in both of our venues, the toilets and fire exits are not located on the entrance floor, and you will have to use our stairs to access them if needed.
Upper North Street: Our entrance door has a 2cm elevation from the floor but is equipped with double doors to allow for a spacious entrance. Pavilion Perplex is our only room that is entirely on the entrance level.
Trafalgar Lane: With an elevation of 12.7cm, this site has a small platform before you enter the doorway. Tea Party is located on the ground floor of this building.
Preston Manor is wheelchair accessible. Two of the rooms we use for Clue Company and Mince Spy Mystery are on the first floor, so aren’t accessible with a wheelchair, unfortunately. If you are coming to play Clue Company or Mince Spy Mystery in a wheelchair, please let us know in advance so we can let you in the accessible entrance.

What are your rules for players under 18?
Children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult during their game. Under 18s will need to have an adult in the building or easily reachable nearby (but not necessarily in the escape room with them) or will need to provide emergency contact and medical condition details for safeguarding purposes. There is no upper age limit!
Children under 16 will need to be accompanied in the reception area of our Upper North Street premesis as we now sell alcohol there, but that adult does not need to be in the room with players over 14.
All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult after 9pm. This is only relevant if you have booked to play Broken, Pavilion Perplex, Raver Quest, Loot the Lanes or Modrophenia.
Will we be put in a group with other people?
All bookings are ‘private’ bookings so it will always just be your team against the clock.
Games of Clue Company are played alongside other teams but you are not required to interact with them and can avoid them by choosing rooms to explore which are currently empty.
Can I add extra players to my booking once I've already booked?
Yes, you can. That's no problem at all. Just give us a call or an email and we can add an extra person (or as many extra people as you like) to your booking.
If the game is at our Upper North Street venue, you're welcome to pay for the extra person when you arrive or pay in advance over the phone or via a payment link we can send.
If the game is at Trafalgar Lane then we will need to take payment in advance as payment facilities are limited there.
General FAQs
How long does the experience last?
Is it scary?
No. Some escape room brands do like to use horror themes in their rooms but we don’t. All of our rooms are 100% fright free.
Do I need to be physically fit?
No. There are no elements in our rooms that require any kind of physicality. This is more about brain fitness and dexterity, than physical fitness.
Can we squeeze more people into the room than your max limit?
What happens if we don’t complete the game in 60 minutes?
Can I book if I am pregnant?
When should we arrive?
Is it safe for someone with claustrophobia?
Please note: Children under 16 will need to be accompanied in the reception area of our Upper North Street premesis as we now sell alcohol there, but that adult does not need to be in the actual escape room with players over 14.
All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult after 9pm. This is only relevant if you have booked to play Broken, Pavilion Perplex, Raver Quest, Loot the Lanes or Modrophenia.
